The Shops at Perry Crossing

I will often get requests from the Hendricks county visitors bureau to take pictures of different attractions in the county. This was an offshoot of one of those shoots. The Shops at Perry Crossing rebranded and needed updated pictures of their new town center, gathering places, walkways and the JC Penny pond fountain as well as an overall feel of the outdoor mall. I was working with a shot list provided by the mall and had a lot of flexibility in how and when I took them. I took morning pictures from 10-12 and the evening pictures from 8-10 so I could get both day and twilight shots to give them the greatest variety of images. With a project like this I needed to be sure I got a variety of angles and compositions, overall feel of the mall as well as details of specific areas.

Technical Mumbo Jumbo:

Most of my commercial work of this nature is taken with a Nikon D800, it's a 36 megapixel beast of a camera with a dynamic range of over 14 stops of light and is rated as one of the top DSLRs with greater specs than some medium format cameras. 99% of these shots were taken on a tripod at f/8 for maximum sharpness and depth of field. Architectural photography is a special art because I want to retain both highlights and shadows so I take a medium exposure with looks terrible in camera but allows me to bring out both light and dark detail in my final edits.

Crew Car Wash

Crew Car Wash was looking to update their pictures for marketing in direct mail, web site, billboard campaigns and internal training in conjunction with a local ad agency. They contacted me because I did their last ad campaign and wanted the same look and feel that my style offered, they had tried several other photographers but wanted a more polished and styled shoot as apposed to just getting people in action.

The Law Office of James Lieb

Jeff shared an office building with another law firm who's pictures I had done for a web site update. He wanted head shots and a variety of different types of shots for flexility when updating his web site.
